🆔 What to Bring

Government photo ID for every signer, the unsigned document, and all signer names. Do not pre-sign — California law requires signing in the notary’s presence.

Service Area & Travel Fees

We travel throughout Sacramento County and the inner ring of Placer County. Travel fees are billed separately from the notarial-act fee. Per California Government Code §8211, the maximum statutory notarial-act fee is $15 per signature; travel fees are quoted in advance.

  • Sacramento (central / midtown / downtown): standard travel — no premium.
  • Elk Grove (~5–9 mi): standard travel.
  • Rancho Cordova (~8–12 mi): standard travel.
  • Citrus Heights (~15–18 mi): mid-tier travel premium.
  • Folsom (~18–22 mi): mid-tier travel premium.
  • Roseville (~20–25 mi): mid-tier travel premium.

How fees stack: notarial-act fee (capped by §8211) + flat travel fee disclosed before dispatch + any after-hours surcharge if applicable. Full quote given on the phone before we leave the office — no surprises on arrival.

What to Have Ready When You Call

A 60-second prep list. Having these five items cuts the booking call to under five minutes and prevents return trips.

  1. Government photo ID for every signer. Driver’s license, state ID, or US passport. ID must be current or issued within the last five years.
  2. The document(s) to be notarized — unsigned. Do not sign before the notary arrives. California requires signing in the notary’s presence.
  3. The full location. Street address, suite/room, parking instructions, and any hospital ward or building access details.
  4. Your deadline or urgency window. Tell us if this needs to happen today, this week, or by a specific filing time.
  5. Full legal names of every signer and any accommodation needs (hospital bedside, hospice, mobility access).

After-Hours Emergency Notary

Hospital signings, hospice care, deadline-driven closings, and overnight ICU situations do not wait for business hours. Our after-hours emergency line is the same main number: (916) 856-7000. We answer 24/7 for emergency dispatch and aim for callback within 30 minutes from 10 PM to 8 AM.

For hospital and hospice signings, see our hospital-bedside notary page. For other urgent situations, see emergency mobile notary.

After-hours pricing — two tiers: Routine after-hours dispatch (10 PM–8 AM, 7 days) from $150 floor. True overnight emergencies — same-hour urgent ICU, hospice, middle-of-night hospital dispatch — from $250 premium floor. Exact quote given before dispatch.
